Ricky Gervais is a British actor, comedian, author, director, producer, screenwriter and musician. Born in 1961, he initially worked in the music industry, Gervais also managed the then-unknown band Suede. He is well known for co-creating, co-writing and acting in the British television sitcoms The Office, Extras, An Idiot Abroad, Life's Too Short and Derek and After Life.
