Ray J is a multi-faceted American celebrity who has been in the entertainment industry since 1995. He was born William Ray Norwood Jr on January 17, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi and raised in Carson, California. He is the brother of recording artist and actress Brandy Norwood and first cousin of rapper Snoop Dogg. Ray J began his career by signing with Elektra Records and releasing his debut album, Everything You Want in 1997. The lead single from the album, "Let It Go", peaked at number 25 on the U.S charts and 11 in New Zealand. He was dropped from the label later that year but rose to fame again in 2001 with the release of his second studio album, This Ain't A Game.
